MOTHER denim has partnered with model and activist Freja Beha Erichsen to create a capsule collection, benefiting the international medical humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders/ Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF), a group that Freja is passionate about, set to launch Fall 2013 & hit stores in September.
This is Freja’s first collaboration. Co-founders Lela Becker & Tim Kaeding have always admired Freja’s personal style & aesthetic so it was a natural choice for them to collaborate with her on this collection.
“Freja really embodies what we feel MOTHER is all about. Her presence is what drew us to her but it was her charitable nature that made this collaboration so special. It’s been an honor to work with her for Doctors Without Borders as it is such an important organization that impacts so many people’s lives,” -MOTHER
The capsule collection features the following styles including: The Muse (skinny straight) in five washes, faux leather and The Crystal Cove printed jean inspired from agate and geode crystals, The Welt Zip Muse (moto pant), The High Waist Cutoffs & the Foxy Boxy (chambray shirt).
Freja worked hand in hand with designer, Kaeding, on all of the details including
the washes, prints, hardware, fit and tags, to ensure that the collection truly reflects her personal style and one that she will wear.
“It’s been a pleasure to work with Tim and Lela, the founders of MOTHER, in this
collaboration to raise some much-needed funds for Doctors Without Borders. We’ve created some beautiful jeans that feel snug and comfortable, yet durable and empowering,” – Freja
Ten percent of the retail sales of the Freja + MOTHER will go to MSF, which provides medical care in nearly 70 countries to people affected by war, natural disaster, epidemics, malnutrition and exclusion from health care, regardless of race, religion, or politics. MSF won the Nobel Peace Prize for its work in 1999.
